Stone tool ??

Found in Stanislaus county, exactly where is unknown. Belongs to a friend. Looks like a tool to me, opinions welcome. 2 very flat edges. Somebody had painted it blue but I did my best to clean it up.

Hello, @Bbmbr . I haven’t seen any of your posts for awhile. Good to come across one. Now I don’t have a lot of experience in this area, but I can’t see any signs of it being “worked.,” meaning it would have signs of chipping or flaking to get that edge. Also, I noticed in the one pic it looks mighty big in your hand. Not very comfortable/easy to use. Just my opinions. Also, because I have a similar looking one. I kept it anyway.

I don’t see any of the classic forms of ground stone tools, also being painted blue would be unusual unless someone didn’t know what they found, my mind wanders to a golf tee box marker or maybe some stones marking a trail

I think her son painted it. She finds interesting rocks and then brings them home and tosses them in her flowerbeds. He's 6 or 7 and was making a pet rock.
