You will see the Exact monogram design at the Sons of Union Veterans website. And you will see that it matches your button exactly. It is "S U V"

The time period is probably 1881-1940. That's just a guess. Not too many more veterans ordering buttons after then, I'd suppose.


If there is a backmark on your button, then we could probably nail down a more specific date range for it.
