The "SUV" button is "Sons of Union Veterans." The organization was founded in 1881 by the GAR.

You will see the Exact monogram design at the Sons of Union Veterans website. And you will see that it matches your button exactly. It is "S U V"

The time period is probably 1881-1940. That's just a guess. Not too many more veterans ordering buttons after then, I'd suppose. :wink:


If there is a backmark on your button, then we could probably nail down a more specific date range for it.
