Strange Button with "LCH" Engraved Onto the Front

I found this button a few inches down in a path today. It's brass and fairly plain except for "LCH" engraved onto the front. Nothing on the back besides the shank scar and the path was a road that dates back to the 1850's if that's helpful. I did some poking around google and couldn't find one like it so I'm hoping someone recognizes it or the knows what 'LCH" stands for.

To me, it looks like a non-military uniform button. I'm thinking, the letters _ CH might lend themselves to '___ County Hospital' for example. By your NY location, is there a possibility of it being Livingston County Hospital?

Interesting, it was found in Columbia County NY, but that does border Connecticut and the first county on our side in CT is Litchfield. That certainly doesn't rule out that it's from one of the NY counties that start with L, but that's a good place to start. Thank you so much for the lead!
