strange pile of rocks

Thanks for the response Smee. everything you see in the pictures is natural, when I paint something to show what I see I always try to do it so its obvious and unnatural. the colors you see are probably from the moss and lichens that grow on the rocks around here, they give some places a reddish, greenish, yellowish look. Is there any way that you could draw or outline what you see in the picture? I would be real interested if there was a chief in full headdress on this side of the rock because there is one on the other side.

The spanish although clever and cunning would make markers that were clearly seen. All i can say is there usually will be a attention getter somewhere near the marker if there is one to catch your eye...and if there is a marker there will be a cross or more importantly a v somewhere on the marker to confirm it. If you have to use photochop to try and find things that aren't there...then you are going in the wrong direction....Gullum...Buddy...and Duij will tell you the same thing...

Yeah, I kinda said that a while ago. Some of this stuff is just a bit far fetched IMO :)

Thanks for the response guys,I'm trying to find out if I'm in the wrong hobby or not and I'm learning lot here.

Thanks for the drawings Smee, that made it easy for me to see what you see.as soon as I get a chance Ill look at more photos I have of the areas you've outlined and see if things you see are still there.

Hey djui5, while looking for some pictures for Smee I found a picture from my site that looks kinda like one of the pictures that you sent me from the Supers. So would it be ok with you if I posted both pictures here. Let me know.

depends on which picture it is :)

what was the name of it?

Its named "1st rock marker left".If you want I can PM you my picture and you can decide if the post is ok.

Or I can post my picture with info about it, and then you can post your picture if you feel that there similar.

Oh that thing. Go ahead :) Thanks for asking first BTW.

Heres the pictures in question. #1 is a picture that djui5 was kind enough to send me that he took in the Superstition mountains in AZ. #2 is a rock that looks very similar [to me],that is at my site in CO. The pointy end of the two rocks seem to have the same shape and the entire rock seem very similar. My rock [#2] has a small hump on the back end and a groove on top of the pointy end, I lined up the two and walked about 250 feet and found what I call a heart on a pedestal [ cause thats what it looks like to me. see pictures 3 and 4] And no I didn't paint the heart black, thats just the way it looks in the field. I didn't get close enough to see why its black[lighting and I had to get off the mountain] but when the snow melts Ill check it out.Any ideas will be appreciated .

Mother of pearl. If I found a heart like that near my pointer I would have fainted...

Seems to be tilted to the right, so go right and you should find something close by.

Wow djui5 I don't often hear any enthusiasm from you [or from anybody else for that matter] about my rocks, I feel encouraged . by the way, what do you think about the two pointer rocks that look so similar. Is it a coincidence or could they have been made by the same people?

I think they are standard markers used for a long time, so they were made/put there by the "same" people, but not the same exact people, if that makes sense.

That heart is incredible though.

Thanks AOSDC for your response.Heres a close up of the turtle head, #1 is a carved shadow eye, this looks like the turtles eye when I first see it from the trail, then as I continue down the trail the shadow eye disappears and the rock eye becomes the turtles eye[#2].This eye looks in a different direction and looks at a small pointer rock. so I think your eyes would be in the wrong place.I know its very difficult to see things in these low rez Internet pictures, thats one of the reasons I appreciate it a lot when someone takes a stab at it.

What does "turtle eye 2" look like from the ground?

djui5 I'm having trouble finding a picture of exactly what I was talking about, this picture is as close as I can find, but it wasn't taken from far enough down the trail. One thing that makes the eyes look kinda funny is [ready for this] theres a sea turtle setting on top of his head, I know, you think I'm crazy [ crazier] so I'm working on some pictures that will show what I think I see. Ill post them when I finish.

Thanks. I was just curious what it looked like from the trail, like if you walked up and were looking at it on foot, without climbing the rocks.

Sure is a good looking one. Better than most of the rock formations in the pictures, to me anyway :)
