While digging In my usual spot I pulled out this. Any ideas what it may have contained? :icon_scratch:
The mark on the bottom is an "N" in a rounded corner rectangle shape. Obear-Nestor Glass Company, East St. Louis, Illinois (1894-1978)

Very uniquely shaped bottle...nice find!

I'd guess since from your picture it looks like it has a crown top so a soda/beverage bottle is my thought. It's a machine made bottle so not old so a soda bottle sounds likely.

I don't know much about bottles, but I do know that for the most part bottle shapes tell a lot about their former contents. For example, most wines are in similar shaped bottles, The same goes for whiskey, milk, sodas, medicines, etc. Based on the shape of that bottle, I would imagine that it was for a sauce of some sort.

of course - "new" is subjective - machine made bottles can be over 100 years old at this point - anyways - this particular bottle is some sort of olive oil or something like that - 1920s-40s or so....

The glass appears to be thick? Sometimes you can judge by the time period by your md finds. My opinion (and everyone has one, lol) 40's 50's

1900 condiment bottle.

I said not old ; I didn't say new . I collect bottles so relatively speaking machine made bottles are not old.
