Strangest item I ever owned (Brass Top Staff Ancient, Modern?)

Found this in a barn in PA
Approximate 6ft tall.
Top is brass but soft (can be bent if pressure applied)
Very strange piece and I have no clue.

Vintage?

All the Masonic ceremonial staffs have the square and compass with some sort of emblem inside of that where the G usually is on the emblem. I have “some experience” with the fraternal orders so to speak lol.
