Can anyone tell me how do the mainline scrapyards strip their cooper wire.
Seeing how they get this stuff in every size and form, from 1 inch to several hundred feet long and every gauge available.
Do they burn it in a furnace, use a mechanical stripper, pour acid on it or have several hundred illegals stripping it in a back shop using razor knifes.
Just curious.

they use a mechanical stripper sort of. They chop it into about 1" pieces then it goes on a shaker table to seperate the insulation and wire. They repeat this process until they have 95-98% of the wire recovered, the rest is waste
