Spent 4.5 hours continuing the search on the field we started last week. For the first time in weeks we have had a little rain :icon_thumright:

First run second dig I found an almost complete Saxon Sword Pommel :o Very rare find & the most complete example I have, only had 1 fragment in the past.

Its similar to the one above & dates to the 6-7th C - 1400 year old Sword piece ;D These would not have just been your usual Saxon person but someone of some standing, middle-high status.

I also got another 2 Hammered, 1 of Lizy & 1 of Henry VIII :)
17th C Token
17th C Button
Medieval Buckle
Crotal Bell
Bit of Gold 18K
1916 Sixpence
Medieval 'Shell' shaped leather decor
& Bits...

This field is pretty quiet & we covered at least 2 acres, but if we continue this luck across the whole field I will be happy :headbang:

Well a mini roll, but I'll take it for this time of year, we don't normally have a field like this that has not been hunted & available in May 8)

You regular hunts are banner hunts for most of us. I love the variety of stuff you pull out of the soil. :icon_thumright:

Most of these are standard, but the Sword piece might take 10 years to repeat
