This is not a critic just question of taste.

I notice here that many of you post with alot of detail. Example some of you post the findings by box
Box 1 ???
Box 2???

and not just by box but by kind of coin.

Most of the time I just report totals. For me finding a barber (normal date) is the same than finding a 1964 Kenn.
I do report some times by half type lets say Walker, Benn, Kenn or just totals lets say 50 90%, 30 40%.

Any reason most of you give so much detail. Any kind of statistic working in your minds?

Good Luck to all. I have not been that lucky YTD in 2012.

I agree with you. I do not have enough time to post the details, but if people want to post them it makes for great reading. HH

To me the stories are more entertaining than numbers alone.

I don't know whether that is the detail you had in mind.

In any case, I hope people keep up the stories.

Keep on Rollin' !

I'm a numbers guy. I actually record my copper pennies per roll and get an average copper per roll #. It's a waste of time, but i like looking at the #'s. :-\

I am a numbers guy too.

I track my total Silver, each coin, type of coin ( not year and mint but Kennedy dime, Barber, Mercury ). Basically each day is logged and it looks like this example

1-13-12
---------------
1 - Roosevelt dime ($1.14/$15.80)
1 - Washington Quarter ($2.86/$15.80)
16 - 40% Half Dollars ($.50/$3.40)
1 - R Johns Ltd 1oz Round ($10/$10)
-----------------------------------------
$22/$979.60 : 3.6195/39.7486 : $1275.13 (+$295.53/+23.17%) @ $32.08

Quanity of coin - name of coin ( Price paid/Price of silver to break even )
-----------------------------------------------------------
Price spent/Total price of silver collection : Ounces purchased that day/Total ounces saved : Price of total ounces at that days end spot price ( =/- profit or loss to paid total/ +/- Percent of profit or loss ) @ Spot price

I do this every day adding purchases and updating the current pricing then at the end of the month, I put the log in another folder and start a new log for the new month.

As the end of the month I add a line to the main log sort of like this

1-12: $040.70/$998.30 : 09.9484/46.0775 : $04.09/$21.66 per : $1283.72 (+$285.39/+22.23%) @ $27.86 - 2.22%/1.11%

Month : Total spent that month/Total spent : Ounces that month/Total ounces : Price per oz that month/price per ounce total : total price ( Profit/Percentage ) @ Spot price ending for month - % complete for low 20 year goal/% complete for high 20 year goal

I can see where I sit for my goal ounces for 20 years from now to help my retirement and seeing the average pricing gives me something to work for as well. I can see how quickly I get more silver at a glance and the price point I am getting it at.

My low goal is 8 oz a month, my high is 16.

Some might say I am a little OCD :D
