The last 3 weekends, through yesterday, I got my first 3 silver quarters; a vintage silver earring; and 7 more silver dimes. That's a total of 30 silver coins since April, when I started looking for silver coins in places where there could be silver coins. If anyone out there is considering searching in the miami area for silver coins, let me tell you, it ain't easy. It seems folks in miami dropped very little silver or else its almost all been sucked up, most properties i've worked came up dry. I've been getting a lot of comments from family, like "you'd make more with a sign at an intersection", but I was determined to find silver coins down here and I have. I found a formula for conducting the search, and it works. But, it is very labor intensive.
The steering wheel looking object on the left is a finger rosary, says "ave maria gratia plena," in raised lettering, also in very tiny letters requiring magnification to read, "CDF Italy". CDF has to stand for "Congregation for the Defense of the Faith." That is the oldest of 9 Vatican congregations, dating back to the 1500's. It was originally called, "Sacred Congregation of the Universal Inquisition" but was renamed the CDF in 1965 (I wonder why!). The rosary is bronze.
the bike badge says "quality cycles, j&b miami". That company started in 1971 as "J&B Cycles" and made bicycles and accessories. It changed its name in 1972 to "J&B Importers" and thereafter sold "Sun" bikes. So this head badge probably dates to 1971 and is probably very rare. Sadly, it's not an important name in bicycle history.
The shell fragment is probably a 50 cal. I was told by a local that the location had been a barracks when originally built in the 1940's. She was very interesting. Her great grandfather, F. Brooks, had homesteaded the Miami Shores area in the 1870's.
The 2 stacks are 25 wheaties. The copper band is inscribed "Chile". Not shown is an unused copper jacketed, lead tip rifle bullet.

What do they know anyway?! The fact of the matter is this...
LOL , just kidding. I think. No, I'm sure it's much more benign these days.
