Sunday's finds - several keepers!
Hi to all!
Another almost summer like day here in Michigan, so you know where I was. I took my friend out again and she used one of my machines. Unfortunately, as the day went on, the detector started acting up. The circuit board came loose and made the machine start making crazy noises. Oh well, she said she had fun and she did find some things.
We went to two different schools that I didn't hit this summer because they had just put down 12 inches of fresh woodchips on the play areas. That was in August, so they are beat down good now plus several months of school may have added some finds there for us. Three hours hunt time total, two at the first school and one at the other. I found $5.73 total clad, 71 coins and long list of keepers. It was a great day!
Taking a lead from Dave and Bobbie, we agreed she would take the left side of each area and I would swing the right. As we were starting (in my area), I tuned her machine and found a signal with mine to pass her machine over to make sure it was working. It did pick it up too, so I dug the signal and out pops a gold ring. "It's going to be a good day!!" I found a sterling ring a few minutes later in the same area that has 4 CZ stones around it. Then I dug a fake diamond wedding ring. I hate that...lol. It sure makes your heart leap. Later at this school, I got my third keeper ring, a sterling one with a yellow heart shaped stone. It looks pretty old, an antique ring. I also got a nice silver cross with a red stone at this school.
At the second school, I had some more good luck. Right off, I hit a nice bracelet with stars around it with mother of pearl inlay inside them. I don't think it's sterling, but it's pretty. My daughter likes it so she can have it to wear. Around the swings, I got three more keepers, first a sterling earring with a large star, then a 925 earring with a huge CZ stone, very pretty!, finally a sweet sterling religious medalian. Love finding those! I also found a lot of trinkets and a possible meteorite. I won't get my hopes up, but it passes the tests I can doo here, heavy/dense, attracted to magnet, and picked up by a metal detector. I will take it to work and grind a bit on a carbonium grinding wheel to look at the internal structure.
Such a good day, I was really happy to get out there and all the finds are a huge bonus. Thanks for reading! Best of luck to you all!
