I wore one of those at the '53 BSA Jamboree.
Brings back good memories.
I believe they were first manufactured in 1950.

I remember one year we got a jamboree “coin”, looked like a huge gold piece. I believe it was for some anniversary of scouting. I still have it somewhere. I think they did different items for each jamboree.

Nice recovery. That one is in great shape. They made 2 types, one with the Boy Scout emblem in the corner (like yours) and one with the Cub Scout emblem.
