My brother (Willybgood) came out from Somerset,Pa (120miles) for a visit to celebrate our mom's 85th birthday. He asked if he should bring his SE and I told him we should do a little swingin on sunday regardless of the weather.

Well,we got about an inch of fresh snow overnight and woke to temps in the teens :tongue3:
Today was the last day of deer season with orange vested hunters everywhere you looked so we were limited on places we could hunt.

We opted for the house we grew up in with our mom's permission of course LOL. An 1800's home sitting on 2 acres that has seen better days.(She doesn't spend the winters here anymore) She shoveled coal in to her furnace up until about 5 years ago when she FINALLY agreed to spend the winter at my sister's house.

Anyways,my brother and i have worked it over many times over the years and never found anything more than a few mercs, rosies and wheaties. I still believe there's an elusive big silver or large cent hiding there but as of this afternoon they are still in hiding ;D
The picture of the overall finds is our combined finds for the day. Most of the coins are from Willybgood's SE except for a wheatie and the rest of the finds are from my DFX.
I was really happy with the pocketwatch back/front. Mags are you out there? I have the other half for you.
I was wearing insulated coveralls and was really quite comfortable for around three straight hours of swinging and the ground was only frozen down about an inch so it wasn't too tough to get through.

I watched over my shoulder the whole time for the men in white coats and the straight jacket but at least for today..they didn't catch up to me ;D

Hope you all have better conditions to swing in than this and HAPPY HUNTING!!!
Jerry

Thanks Buckleboy,my mother-in-law down in Key West likes to send me those rear view mirror shots when she knows it's frigid up here and it's in the 80's in the keys. :icon_sunny:

Nice finds Jerry!

Do you think the EMI here will cause depth problems with my 12" coil?

Happy 85th to your Mother OJ.....Won't be long until I'm there weather wise, took me 3 hour's to get home last night because of a "dusting" that turned instantly into a sheet of ice on I70.......Great Dig's,Diehard is the word I was looking for

I was thinking more "nutso, crazy, take me away to the funny farm", but hey, diehard is good too! Of course, I live where if the coldest day reaches freezing, they cancel school, declare a holidy, and everyone stays in with fireplace on and electric blankets! (houston). Great digs...you worked for those!

:blob8: Need to get warm ,Need to get warm... Don't like snow , You can play all you want in it. ;D WTG on your guys finds

John,i think the electromagnetic interference could definately cause some false signals there buddy, best not get too close to the poles ;D

Can't blame you i'd be there too

I WOULD TRY THAT.

Now thats hardcore detecting :icon_pirat: I;m going to detect until it freezes over completely. Just bundle up and go get it. Nice finds, by the way Jerry :icon_sunny:

The cold aint so bad, its the freezing wind that cuts the hunt short.

hey, as long as the ground isnt frozen, why not!

Nice job Bundled Boys.

TN members are a ruck / LOL.
