It has been a long day.....I'm just now getting a chance to post what I found yesterday afternoon. Well, I got back to the camp and found a few bullets pretty quickly. Right before dark I had a very good signal and pulled this sword handle from the soil. I just hope I can find some more of it...the grass is starting to get high here so it is really making it hard to detect.

to me it looks like a model 1840 heavy cavalry sword / saber--- hilt (made of brass) --- the sword was dubbed the "wristbreaker"

I could see that...It is a very heavy piece of brass...If the whole sword was attached it would be heavy!

SWEET  That should make a Excellent display Cody. Once again Congrat's buddy

Congratulations!

I can't believe it either...Each time I go out there I expect it to dry up, but the finds keep on coming. It is totally amazing!

Thanks to all!
