Sword Hanger? (found out it's horse tack)

I was detecting a new site today and found stone remnants of a chimney and foundation. My first target was this item. Looks like a sword hanger but I guess it could also be a horse gag chain or some other horse tack. If anyone can confirm what it is I would appreciate it.

Almost looks like it's off a horse drawn carriage...

Nice find, I've only found the "swivel" (left side). You have the "Check holder" too. It is for horse tack from the 1800s

Definitely a horse bit-&-bridle "gag swivel" ... and from the late-1800s (not earlier) on through to the present. Here's a scan from the 1907 Pierson & Hough horsegear catalog, and a photo of a slightly different version for sale today on the internet. Of course, because most Americans stopped using horses for transportation by the late-1930s, yours is most probably from sometime between the 1880s and 1930s.
