Detector(s) used
CTX 3030
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
T2 SE doesn't say that...... I can find it anyway. It specifically says that it carries over to both.
......................copy>>>>>>>>>>>>>When the detector is calibrated to the actual soil condition, the result will
be deeper target detection, quieter operation, and more accurate target
identification. This calibration, or Ground Cancellation, can be
accomplished automatically with the detector’s internal computer, by
pushing the Trigger Switch forward, or manually in the All Metal menu.
The ground cancellation setting carries through into both All Metal and
Discrimination modes. In Discrimination mode, the ground signal is
generally inaudible unless the discrimination setting is 0.

I think it says somewhere that ground balance in le which is startup on my se is suitable for average ground.

I can tell a distinct increase in chatter when the machine is set hot and is too positive on ground balance. Get in heavy iron trash area, get a good ground balance and hunt it. Then go to all metal and manually add +10 to it (back to discriminate) and see what happens. Seems to me to be much more unstable.

Page 31 basically says if you hunt in disc you will probably not have to cancel the ground, if you switch to all metal ground cancel will probably be necessary. I'll ground balance anyway myself.

I noticed the other day that when I was hunting in discriminate mode with the sens turned way up, that after auto ground balancing the machine ran quieter.
