Got the T2 SE 15 inch coil in the mail last thursday, this coil had a couple runs down the beach so far but was brought for detecting the local abandoned ovals who are a century or more in age.

So far testing on the beach has been amazing, depth is what you expect from 15 inch coils and i have used a few of them or larger coils on various machines in the past.
With this coil i got 2ft or 24 inches digging a inch round pipe at the beach, this had a strong signal.

The coil is stable on the beach, its got a wide coverage, quick to id targets and best of all the size is a real head turner! 8-)
The weight is comparable to other large coils i used in the past, I carry in my car a $2 home made harness kit, which makes the T2 float on air and takes away any weight the coil has added.
Pinpointing is precise, i can pinpoint within a inch of the target and over all i found the coil down the beach yesterday worked perfectly.

I see you that you mentioned settings of Sens - 50 in All Metal while scouring the wet sand. I would love to see a video of your setting and the hearing the detector's performance. I love my T2 and it is the first detector that I pull when hunting the dry. The depth of the T2 is ridiculous along with finding the smallest of targets.

Here on the Atlantic coast of North Florida, the T2 is completely unstable on the wet sand. I've toyed with it from time to time on the wet, but have to set the sensitivity to 35 or lower depending on the beach. It still finds the solid targets that are shallow, but with the loss of depth, it isn't worth swinging if you are missing the sweet stuff.

The wet sand is just that wet not saturated. The really wet soil on ocean tide edge is chattery, but the wet half dry sand works ok with T2 Ltd, i hear the Ltd is better than standard T2 at beach. But yes i do take AT Pro to beach to use in water and saturated soil.

ATPro? Don't get me started. I just bought one to toy around with myself. I feel I should have thrown $500+ dollars in clad on the beach. At least with the T2, I know I wouldn't have missed any and would have enjoyed myself more. I have never dug so much iron than with the ATPro even when I used the SeaHunter. The Pulse loves all metal and doesn't discriminate, but at least it wasn't part of the bill of goods that was being sold. One of the features of the ATPro is the discrimination. Instead, it seems to love iron ringing loud, high and clear while being discriminated.

down beach again this afternoon, same drama i can get t2 into the semi dried sand but cant go onto wet salt soil. Is not a real issue i got machine for relic hunts in the fields and the 15 inch coil can do the dry sand for me and then swing AT Pro over the rest of the area.

What is the added weight of the 15"? One of the benefits of the T2 is how light it is without sacrificing performance.

I use STD mode, iron disc 40, set manual ground balance, have only used in grass, no iron problem here, despite there being plenty of it. If you try setting it like this, & the iron problem still exists, try reducing sensitivity. If iron still a problem, contact Garrett. Best wishes, George (MN)

The 15" inch coil is way heavy. It does go deeper - I dug at three ringer Civil War bullet at 2 1/2 feet as God is my witness - but man, I paid for it in pain. If you want deep and don't mind the weight, get a Minelab. The T2's awesomeness is great depth and little weight. The wear and tear on my elbows was not worth the extra depth. I can cover more ground and feel pretty certain I'm not missing anything with the stock coil than with with the 15".

yes 15 inch coil is going real deep but i agree is very heavy, i use a ocky strap and a lanyard now as a really cheap harness, makes it light as a feather.

Ozzie, any way you can post a picture of your setup? I would love to see it.
