One of my favorite tellers at my dump bank told me about a bunch of silver dollars she got for face the other day.

Today she brought them to the bank so I could check them out for her.

She had: two 2002 silver eagles
17 circulated common Morgans and Peace.
Three BU Morgans
One BU Peace
19 silver Washingtons
One 1964 Kennedy

I told her how much a coin shop would pay her, and let her know I could pay more than that.

I also gave her some flips to pot the nicer dollars in.

She thinks she wants to sell. I'll update if I get them.

Number one rule of CRH, be nice to tellers.

Good luck, that would be a nice little score. I just went to one of my pick up banks last week and asked one of the tellers ( she collects) if she had found anything cool, she said " you're gonna kill me" I asked why, "I had a guy bring in 2 solid rolls of SIlver Quarters" ok, and why am I going to kill you? " I sold them to another customer for $140.00 a roll" WHAT! Why didn't you ask me if I wanted them? "I'm sorry, I needed the money and knew I wouldn't see you for another week." You win some, you loose some, but man, I wish I could have won on that one. HH, Maverick.

I've seen it time and time again over the years, some tellers know what's what, can't blame 'em for wanting to make a few bucks, or having an eye for the shiny stuff...

I thought rule 1 was never talk to tellers about silver? Those coins should be yours.

True, if they don't already know about silver. Once that cat is out of the bag, I still try to get the AG for less than melt...

Awesome!

sadly theres a coin shop 1 door down in the same strip! She took them there! How do I know ?? because she showed em to me!

Too close to home for me. I mean, what's the saying? "Don't **** where you eat?" If tellers are gonna buy what they find in their tray, that's fine but I think it's rather idiotic and opens them up to a world of potential problems when they turn around and sell them to a bank customer. At least try and sell them outside of your place of work.
