When you all see a coin that u won't in a tellers tray how do u get it? Do u ask for all the coins in the tray or do u ask for the specific one?

I always ask for them. Sometime I get them sometime I get so rot about saving it for simeone but it never hurts to ask. Halves I take them all always

Punch them in the nose grab the coins then run for the door. I just ask if I can have them it works all the time for me.

I was just wondering because it seems a bit much to ask for all of them

It is a valid awkward question to ask.

"I'll take all of the dimes in your tray."

Huh? You want a dime roll?

"No, All the dimes in your tray."

You mean these - pointing to tray????

"Exactly"

Then they start going through them one by one....

I'm thinking to myself - I'm weird and I know it....

Ask for all of them. If you ask for individual ones, they will soon get that the white edge ones are "good" and will begin to save them.

I agree it's a bit much if its quarters or dimes. Last teller tray dimes I scored I just asked the pretty blond teller "what's that dime with the white edge, could I see it?" Sure, I've got another one also. (That one wasn't in the tray)
I love to use the term "white edge". So much nicer then using the s word. When it comes to halves and Ike's, always ask for all of them. They are unusual coins and asking for them all is understandable for the tellers. If you ask for all the dimes or quarters in the tray it just seems weird because they are just dimes and quarters and you aren't asking for any specific amount. That and in my area, a white edge is usually Canadian.
