Relic Hunting

The Tennessee Trio decided to get in a short 3 hour hunt at an Indiana & Ohio Infantry and 2nd Michigan Cavalry camp this morning. Even though a good soaking rain would enhance finding deep relics there, we did okay. Josh found a coat size eagle button in the picture (not cleaned) but didn’t buy lunch again-LOL. My best find was a 3 ringer carved into a chess piece. The temperature was in the 50s, no rain, everyone dug relics, and we all saved a little history and added a few more relics to our display boxes from that camp while we enjoyed hunting together. What’s not to like? HH, from the Tennessee Trio and have a great weekend, Quindy.

Great Relics! That carved bullet is Awesome! Way to go guys!

That chess piece is awesome. The story is beyond anything you can imagine. The soldiers needed a way to be entertained in between getting shot at. Nice finds!

Thanks Mr. Schultz and i looked back as I keep records and locations of recoveries. I dug a finely carved acorn bullet in Sept. of 2011 at a CS camp. That was the last good example of soldier's art that I I recovered until the chess piece yesterday. There were 492 Civil War relics in between so they don't happen very often (for me anyeway). HH, Quindy.

anybody got some suggestions of places to hunt in the nashville area? new here just out of army at fort campbell looking to spend some good time hunting for pieces of history or anybody looking for help/company as they go out. thanks all

Greaqt finds guy's and love that carved !!!!!!!

Nice hunt guys! The carved bullet easily trumps the eagle button......Quindy buys!!!
