Relic Hunting
The Tennessee Trio reunited for a rare summer hunt at a Civil War site for a little over 2 hours this morning that Dman (Doug) and I scouted last spring. Doug and I began hunting a little after 6 am and Josh joined us nearly an hour later. The humidity was high as we are expecting strong thunderstorms today.
Doug recovered 2 .58 cal. 3 ringers, .54 cal. Burnside Carbine, heavy duty brass brad, and melted lead. Josh dug a .54 Sharps, .577 cal. Sharps (find of the day), and a mashed .577 cal. Enfield, and large chewed bullet. I dug a .54 cal. Burnside. .54 cal. 3 ringer, and the end from an old bone handle pocketknife. We all dug iron relics too.
No banner finds today but we enjoyed getting together for the short morning hunt. ANY CW relics dug from Tennessee during the summer is a bonus. HH, from Doug, Josh, & Quindy.

Nice finds VOL1266-X.

Q, I'm glad the Trio was able to hunt today despite this Southern heat and humidity, not to mention some of the other summer critters. Congrats on your bullets and other finds! Breezie

Quindy,
Is that you or Papa Smurf in that get up? :dontknow: Way to go on the summertime CW relics guys. They look beautiful on that blaze orange towel. :icon_thumleft:
Great to see the trio back in action again. Save me some!

Glad to see the old relic rag getting a workout this time of year!

Thanks VPN & Breezie. It wasn't but 80 deg. but the humidity was awful. HH, Q.

MM, I took Buckleboy's advice and bought some of those Columbia moisture wicking shirts and they are great. When you get hot, you pour a Margarita on them-LOl. We left a melted bullet for you to dig this fall-LOL. Q.

Steve, I'm afraid to wash the "Relic Rag'' MM gave us. Might be bad luck. HH, Q.

That was a fun short hunt but it was humid.

Hot or not, that looked like fun! Nice job, guys!

Nice saves - saddle up!

That was a fun short hunt but it was humid.

The air temp. was only 80 but the humidity even that early was very uncomfortable Doug. Josh is now seeklng permission for us to hunt a CS site HH, Q.

Great stuff, Q!

Congrats on being able to find a location for a hunt this time of year. I know how difficult that can be up North!

Cheers,

BB

Hot or not, that looked like fun! Nice job, guys!

Thanks Rob. I found an unusual puece of metal I need you to i.d. HH, Q.

Richard (Old Stonewall), I hope other spots will work out. Is the new book in print? I see you have had some historical excitement at Washington & Lee University. HH, Q.

BB, it was nothing like the heat in LA but it's hot for us-LOL. HH to you, Shane, & Diggergirl, Q.
