Tenn. Trio Has 4 Button Day At CS Camp and Made Cover of W & E-Pic Added

The Trio reunited for a hunt at CS site last Saturday morning. We could not believe the shotgun brass, WW2 maneuvers blank 30-06 cartridge hulls, and full and broken horseshoes at the cavalry site there. Between the 3 of us, I'd say we dug 75-80 pieces of that junk. That place had apparently never been hunted much. Josh dug a nice little flower cuff button with 3 hearts or flowers on it, a mint condition high convex GS eagle coat size button with Scovill back mark, and large flat button for a coat. Dman scored an eagle GS button too. My finds were only a few dropped round balls. That day, nobody dug a single conical (pointed) bullet in the 4 hour hunt. Very odd even though it's a CS site!!!
I didn't have as much luck as I would have liked on that hunt but that's just hunting-I certainly can’t complain as I've been pretty lucky lately. Sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you. Speaking of eating, Dman and I were delighted that we went as Josh finally bought lunch-LOL.
I also had the honor of being on the cover of the new (Nov.) Western & Eastern Treasures cover for the second time in 13 months. Dman and Tenn. Josh were on the cover two issues ago. HH from the Trio, Quindy.

Great Post Quindy and Congratulations on making the front cover of one of the
Best metal detecting magazines around, The Western & Eastern Treasure Magazine.

I always like to read your articles in the magazine.

For some here on Treasurenet, I bet they don't know you are a Great book writer also.
Quindy wrote a great book about Confederate soldiers making there way home after the
Civil War. When you read this book, you feel like you are right there with the soldier.

Quindy, please tell the folks the name of your book, as I can't find my copy at this moment.

Best Regards Quindy and keep writing,
Dennis ( Ringfinder )

Thanks Denny. The book name is "Taking Southern Trails Home". All the copies are sold out but I may actively market it in the near future. As you know, I wrote the book at a 7th grade level so school kids would get an idea of what the CW was like for the average CSA Soldier. I'm already started into my next book "The Scarlet Leaves of Autumn" about a Confederate veteran, post CW reconstruction, and his life following the war in the South. The rest of the book is on hold due to relic season-LOL. Good luck in VA my friend, Quindy.

Thanks MK. Those horseshoes were lucky for me as I would never have dug the "acorn" bullet if I had not been recovering those relics for the kids. This past weekend, I went to a site where there are a lot of WW2 Maneuver blank 30-06 cartridges that we normally toss. I thought I'd dig a few good ones and assemble a clip to let my wife display them in the local elementary school library with an explanation of why our county was one from Tennessee selected for war games. Look at what else showed up while I dug the cartridges. HH, Quindy.
