Tennessee CW Relic Finds from Sunday and Today's Rain Out Hunt
Yesterday, I made a solo sortie to a local CSA Camp before the Super Bowl. Josh went to a U.S. Cavalry camp for a little while near his home. I tried to persuade Dman to go with me but he felt he should ease into hunting at a house first after the doctor released him to go hunting. I dug the .54 cal. and 2 .58 cal. 3 ringers, .69 cal. round ball, and harness buckle cleaned up in the first pic. Josh dug the Sharps Carbine bullet and Colt .44 cal. pistol bullet.
With Dman scheduled for therapy and impending rain today, Josh and I returned to the CSA Cavalry Camp where I dug the Block "I" button last week. We both dug a dropped Burnside Carbine bullet (as we did last Monday). Josh had the best find with the carved lead nipple protector shown in the next pics with the Burnside cartridge. He also dug the brass suspender buckle but we were unsure of the age. Any guesses welcome. Still out there Buckleboy? About 3.5 hours into the hunt, I looked off the high hill to the Southwest and the rain was moving in fast. We cut a trail to our trucks. Happy hunting from Dman, Josh, and myself, Quindy.
