Terrific day with finds that span three centuries!

Today I went out hunting with Joe(USA) and met Bergie in his hometown to hunt one of his local spots. Bergie was nice enough to share a great site that he has found many nice coins and relics on. This area is in the woods and has an old road with a nearby pond that was probably used as a watering hole for hundreds of years. In fact, the coins we found there span 3 centuries! We started off trying to detect in the pond but the bottom was so muddy that any coins were way beyond our reach in the depths of the mud. So instead we took to the surrounding land which has been hunted pretty hard in the past but the area is big and heavily wooded so we knew that there must be some more stuff hiding in there. After about 20 minutes of hunting near the pond I got my first good signal which turned out to be a stick pin with a clear stone in it. I'm not too sure what vintage this is but I'm assuming it is 20th century. About 30 minutes later I got the Crotal bell which is large and completely intact. The 1869 indian head penny which I found only a few feet away was heavily crusted but cleaned up remarkably well. I figured I was now onto a spot that hadn't been hunted yet so I concentrated my search to the immediate area and the next find was a 1942-S quarter laying right on top of the ground. In fact, I spotted it before I even went over it with the coil. After picking it up I got another quarter signal about a foot away which was a 1941. Now I'm getting excited! Two silvers, a crotal bell and an indian head! I'm happy with the day and I don't care if I find anything else. Well about 5-10 feet away I get another promising signal and this turns out to be a George II colonial copper! My second colonial of the year so far This coin was also heavily crusted but a little hot peroxide cleaned it up pretty well and I'm somewhat sure that I'm seeing the date as 1734 but it's quite hard to see and I may be wrong.
What a fantastic day! Joe(USA) found a nice 1859 indian head penny and a thimble. Bergie ended up finding a really spectacular colonial belt buckle that hopefully he will post for you to see. Thank you to Bergie for sharing his site with us. We hope to do more detecting with you in the future.

Yes, all found with the 3300! Just because it says Radio Shack on it doesn't mean it won't produce the goods!

Look closely at the 1869 Indian, if it's the overdate, it's worth even more. Great finds! Kane23

I did take a closer look after I realized that there was an overdate version but I'm sorry to report that this doesn't appear to be one of them. Thanks for the heads up though.
