Tesoro vaq or xp deus

I don't know I don't use one of those. You make outrageous claims and that's all you got. One thing you should do with a fancier detector is just ignore all the silver and iron and dig everything in between and find any gold ring that the Tesoro would hit just like it does everything else but just without any idea what it might be. If you dig more gold with your tesoro, you are also digging more trash. There is no magic like you allude to.

Tesoro detectors are hot on gold jewelry. Pound for pound and dollar for dollar nothing comes close to a Compadre in a tot lot.

It's king! It will do things that other detectors only dream of.

Ever tried a DEUS?

No................. not all detectors are the same. If they all do the same thing then why pay 3 prices for one that has the weight of a boat anchor. LOL

I don't think DS said they were "all the same". I know of many gold rings, etc... that were found by a BH tracker 4. If you learn it right, that BH is deadly. Period!

Another ridiculous claim. No magic there either.

Your right about the tracker 4. A and you are also right they are not all the same. I don't know of any that won't give a signal on a gold ring. It's up to you to dig or not.

Ever tried a DEUS?

No, but I hunted with a guy that had one and he was very experienced with it. I had to work hard, but I could keep up with him with my Tesoro detectors.

Give a real try, bet you will trade all your detectors for this machine like all of us did.

I love all my detectors but really feel prehistorical now when using them.

I think what you're missing is that Tesoros (and other machines) will give you a different audio QUALITY on a gold ring vs a pulltab. This is something that someone learns from many hours behind their machine, and the faster the processor, the more noticeable this audio quality will be.

Since Tesoro machines are both faster and deeper than MANY detectors, time spent with a faster machine will net you more targets; trash or otherwise, and that user will be able to distinguish gold rings from aluminum trash much easier. If you doubt this, you need more time, patience, and experience with your machine...whatever it is.

However if you can't air test coins with your detector past 5-6" then don't get pissed when you're finding nothing exciting while your buddies are walking behind you, having a field day 8-)

I'm open minded, I've tried a lot of different detectors, but so far nothing suits me better than a Tesoro. The closest thing so far is my F75DST. It's great for cherry picking silver coins. The next chance that I get I'm going to try the new Racer 2.

I have the opportunity to detect and test almost all available machines. Tesoro have a very good quality/price ratio, no question about that. Now Deus is not in the same price range and is FAST and sensible. You are lucky to have a different tone for gold and AL... :notworthy: it means you are able to dig the AL and not miss the gold...

You talk about time and patience and your right. What I'm saying is they don't have the market cornered. I'm far from new. Never been pissed off detecting either. I remember the last tesoro guy that hit me with the old walk behind you with a tesoro and get all the good stuff. A couple months after making such a bold statement he post his first silver coin. And how he can't wait to find his first gold ring. That quote must come on the box of every new tesoro.

The XP Deus will tell a gold ring from a pull tab? :icon_scratch: Why didn't somebody tell me?! :dontknow:

I agree on not having the market cornered ds. REAL, and by that I mean seasoned metal detectorists that know their Tesoro machines, only walk behind other machines without fear when the operators of those machines have bad technique, or lack the knowledge to operate their machines correctly. The rest of the time we are just lucky to be swinging machines lighter and less expensive than the ones in front of us. :skullflag:

Fair enough. And on the above post you are right also. No detector is going to give a different tone for gold. With gold ranging from foil up to a zinc penny it's impossible. Anyone says otherwise is blowing smoke. Only someone new to the hobby would fall for such BS.

When I'm swinging a Tesoro I can pretty much tell when there's a gold ring under the search coil and not a pull tab. Problem is, I have a hard time telling a pull tab from a gold ring. It something about the audio tone that a gold ring gives off that flat out gets your attention. It's sounds mellow and loud. At any rate, I find way more gold rings with a Tesoro than with any other detectors that I use or have used.

what? you can pretty much tell if its a gold ring under the coil and not a pull tab. yet, have a hard time telling a pull tab from a gold ring. that statement does not make any sense? thats like saying i know when my watch is on my left wrist and not on my right wrist. but, if my watch is not on my right wrist, i dont really know if its on my left wrist. LOL. yeah tabman, you are a real pro. haha

Makes a lot of sense if you don't think about it.

guess that is the problem. i had to read it twice just to make sure that is what was actually written. WOW, are tesoro's really that amazing? i never knew and i even own one... LOL!!!

Guys I've had my search coil over lots of gold rings through the years and most of the time when I do, I'm pretty sure that it's a gold by the loud mellow audio tone. People who know how to properly use a Tesoro detector and have a long experience with them know what I'm talking about. On the other hand, a pull tab could sometimes sound like a gold ring, but you just never really know until you dig it. Not all gold rings give off that unmistakable audio tone, but when they do you know it's a gold ring. Some gold rings sound like a pull tab, so I can't distinguish them from a gold ring. Two of the three 14k gold rings that I dug this year, I was pretty certain that they were gold rings before I even dug. The 3rd gold ring sounded like a pull tab. That's why you have to dig them. I wish that I could tell pull tabs from some gold rings that sound like pull tabs, but I can't.
