Happy Thanksgiving guys!
Got out today for a few hours with my cousin "Kimmer" who's visiting from Norway. We got lucky with a pocket spill from the early 50's (5 dimes). He's never detected before, but he got the hang of it pretty fast. We also found a small silver souvenir ring from Washington DC and a tiny aluminum coin.

This location is one of three I have permission for in the oldest part of town.

Kimmer is 12 and plays the piano like Jerry Lee Lewis. He also does amazing card tricks! :D

Cheers!

Thanks for the encouragement guys.

Sorry I haven't been posting much lately. I got really busy with Illustration work (portraits of six 08 presidential candidates and key issue themes).

The Mercs are 36 and 44, but the latest Rosie was 52. We laughed when they all popped out of the dirt at once.

The small coin is a Falsa Pecunia dime dated 1948.(Play Money). The dirt in this part of town also has many assorted 3 ringer type bullets. They pop up everywhere.

Kirk- Doug informed me a few months back that he was going to detect in the woods. That's not really my thing so... We had fun detecting together when we did and he's a great dude. I've been detecting smaller private homes and he's doing more relic hunting. We are both older dudes with families and different schedules. Hope that helps answer your question. :D

Yes. Kimmer is hooked! He's going to scout some possible sites for our family visit there next summer. Norway is wide open for detecting so we will see...
