The 1841 dime I found yesterday got me to thinking about the others.....

that I have. A few years ago I found 7 seated quarters, 23 dimes and 3 half dimes. Dates range from an 1836 dime to an 1860 dime with the other dimes and quarters and the half dimes being in between those dates. What are some key dates that I should look for if y'all don't mind me asking. Found them all in a place as big as the bed of a pick up truck on the edge of a CW battlefield. I guess a soldier lost/threw them down just prior to capture. Thanks for any info...d2

I don't know the key dates but that is on heck of a nice collection. Congrats on such a wonderful handful of change finds from those early years.

d2, You can buy "A Guide Book of United States Coins" at any Hobby Lobby. It has a red cover
and runs around $15. Then you can look up each coin to find it's grade and mintage number.
Pictures of a mint state coin allow you to grade yours to a ballpark retail price.
