The attack to shut down Oregon suction dredging has begun

Democrat Senator Betsy Johnson keep her word and voted against SB838-10 and Senator Fred Girod voted against miners. He needs to be voted out of office when his term is up.

I really think it would be a good gesture for miners to call or email a THANK YOU FOR THEIR VOTE AGAINST SB838-10 IN THE JOINT WAYS & MEANS COMMITTEE TODAY. IT MIGHT GO ALONG WAY IF ONE OF THESE REPUBLICANS ARE HALF WAY SITTING ON THE FENCE IF THEY START TRADING VOTES WHEN THIS BILL HITS THE SENATE FOR A FLOOR VOTE. The information with highlighted email addresses also list their phone numbers.

Joint Ways & Means vote all Democrats voted against miners except Senator Betsy Johnson.
Here is the Joint Ways & Means committee vote today
14 votes to pass All Democrats except Senator Betsy Johnson
11 votes against this bill. Senator Chuck Thompson excused for family funeral.
Only one Republican voted against miners Senator Fred Girod.

I just fired off a letter to Fred Girod...

You and me too.....some personal agendas seem to be more important than the welfare of an industry and the people that support that industry. Hope he chokes on his decision to vote against the miners! :hello:

ALL HANDS ON DECK! Bill passed the Senate today, (and my Senator, Girod, will be hearing me).

Sigh
A party-line vote. I hate Oregon Democrat Legislators and will oppose them on all fronts.

Oregon has ONE half-decent Democrat, Betsy Johnson. She was the lone Democrat vote against firearms bills and the anti-mining bills. All of the rest are garbage, all of the time.

Sackcloth and ashes....

Miners may have lost this skermish because of some corrupt politics and back-door deal making,
but we haven't lost the war! The old adage of what goes around, will eventually come around will
level the playing field. :icon_thumright:

Thank you for the message of hope.

The country can only take so much of this crap before it hits the fan...

The Oregon governor hasn't signed SB838 yet. Wonder if he has all his legal staff and some paid legal advisers working
feverishly to see if he could be held ACCOUNTABLE for supporting and signing a bill that countermands the Federal Laws
already in place for protecting miners rights to mine? Just a thought........:hello:

Wow, wouldn't that be something!?

More than likley he is waiting for one of two things to happen, court cases in Cal. Also the court ruling from the Jefferson mining and Galice mining Districts court cases.

BILL SIGNED AND YA'ALL BEEN CALIFORNICATED BY THE CANCER FROM THE KLAMATH JUST LIKE US-WHAT STATE NEXT!!JOHN

Judge Achoa denied the injunction because in 2009 based upon a survey by.......in which 668 respondents labled themselves as "RECREATIONAL" DREDGERS! Shame on them.

I propose that all clubs, (GPAA) included give their members the reason for NEVER USING THE TERM RECREATION, RECREATIONAL, PASTIME, HOBBY, OR ANY OTHER SUCH LIKE WORDS IN CONNECTION WITH PROSPECTING AND MINING. All new members should receive an orientation piece in this regards too. Don't let this happen again!

A good thought Jog, but a day late and a dollar short as the old saying goes.
Those people that did the survey, sent questionnaires to mostly the "newbees"
that didn't know any better and checked the box that said "recreational miner".
Sad thing is, there may not be another chance to change things without a long,
drawn-out legal battle.......by then, it won't matter anyway. :BangHead:
