Doh! I left home without my pinpointer batteries. I just ran a clinic on how to fiddle with batteries and metal detector during a dig. Yikes!
If anyone has ever done that, I feel your pain. Fighting with plugs, standing, kneeling, swapping out batteries again and again.
I've forgotten knee pads or my gloves before but this is the worst.
However I still got a few items: A Loonie, a clad US George and a Viewlex projector crest.

I hunted for 30+ years without a pinpointer...and that was back before they existed.

In my 60's and trying to save my knees. I'll gladly take a pin pointer now. 😂
