The Battery Hunt of May 24th 2025

Doh! I left home without my pinpointer batteries. I just ran a clinic on how to fiddle with batteries and metal detector during a dig. Yikes!
If anyone has ever done that, I feel your pain. Fighting with plugs, standing, kneeling, swapping out batteries again and again.
I've forgotten knee pads or my gloves before but this is the worst.
However I still got a few items: A Loonie, a clad US George and a Viewlex projector crest.

In my 60's and trying to save my knees. I'll gladly take a pin pointer now. 😂

Thanks. As we know sometime the energy level isn't what it could be. I sputtered out but got some results anyway.

Same thing (or close) happened to me this weekend. Pinpointer died, no problem went to truck got “new” battery, walked 1/4 mile back to where I was detecting. Cut it on, it was dead too. I said some unkind things about myself at this point. Went back to the truck, looked everywhere, couldn’t find a third. As I was pulling off to run 5 miles to gas station I noticed a beat up 9v in the passenger door. (I did test that one prior to walking another 1/4 mile). Worked perfect. I’ve got to start throwing dead batteries in floorboard instead of normal pockets, as it’s obvious I don’t remember to take them out when I get home.

I have a box that stays in my car NOW . I have AT LEAST of two of everything i need in the line of detecting in it

Aww man! That so sucks man. To go that far too, ahhh. I contemplated on going back home but being at that stage, ready to go. So now I test everything before I go out...Such a GD waste of time eh.
