during the civil war union general when he went to the front lines to reveiw how a battle was going --- he was told by the men there that he needed to take cover and be careful because there was a deadly rebel sniper about 1/2 mile away that had been shooting at them --- he just stood there and said " nonsense why they couldn't hit a elephant from that dis..." :P --- yep he was he was "dead" wrong.
