Great timing with getting this picture. One of my biggest fears when I ride my motorcycle in the fall is having a deer jump out in front of me. I already had one close call with a deer.

The older does are bred first. A few weeks later, the young does come in and it's the second rut. Looks like that's what you're seeing there.

Had that happen to a friend,it was a dirt bike at around 50MPH.He survived,recovered completely,but it wasn,t pretty.It,s real common to see dead deer on the side of the road this time of year.A lot of folks keep track of them and pick up the fresh ones every morning,You can fill a freezer pretty fast.It,s OK as long as you report the recovery to the Game and Fish.They just log it in to that years road kills to keep an accurate account of how many deer total are killed in the state.
