I cant make the chat, I work during the weekday and will be hunting a new sight saturday.and wont make the friday lunch, but am looking forward to the talkin toumbstones. Is the sunday hunt still going on??

Just got out of formation,( its drill weekend) my name was called out for a two week workshop from Oct 1-15th. I am in the process of pleading my case so that they will let me off that weekend. If I cannot get off I will let you know so that someone might be able to get my room in Caldwell....Steve

I told them that this has been on my calendar for a long time. I work in supply so I have a few items to bribe them with. I have never gone AWOL but if it comes down to that I will.....Steve

Don't want to leave anyone hanging that may of been interested in the room. I am able to come now, will get there late Friday night. I was told that if I get hurt while on orders, and out of state they would just as soon me go AWOL. There is not near as much paperwork to fill out that way. Hey everyone I got back from KC visiting my grand kids. Here is what I know so this will be real short. They are having a revue on Friday only. So every thing is OK. I thought they were going to have one Saturday also but they are not. We have an appointment for the Talking Tombs at 1:00 Saturday. The Opera house is on the corner of main and central.

Folks,

Have sent Burdie and Stoney PMs. Unfortunately, I will not be attending CTH.

Significant changes happened on Fri. Wife went into renal failure on Fri. She was admitted to emergency room and then to Cardiac Care Unit (CCU)..only bed availble. Left kidney shut down, right kidney was shutting down too. Almost lost her. Things changed dramatically on Sat when we got Janet....a top notch nurse who basically took charge and told the doctors ...either get ur *&% together or get out of the profession. I stood in total awe of her. Suddenly, it was like a tv battleplan.....a top notch team of doctors were assembled....ever see 6 doctors working in tandem? Wow... Suddenly, it became apparent that my wife possibly had been misdiagnosed at the very get/go.....and the cause of her kidney failures became apparent.....renal failure brought on by sepsis. She had a HUGE enlongated kidney stone in her left side that was blocking everything....and had been for months! She never had the flu or pneumonia! So....they did a cathether into her back to the kidneys, draining off the absess and urine from her kidneys. Then they started working in tandem on trying to save her right kidney at least. Good Lord stepped in....right kidney started perking up, and then it REALLY perked up. Looked like the left kidney was a goner. Suddenly, the left kidney woke up and started coming back to life. It still is not back to even 30% productivity...but it is working...and getting stronger by the hour. The doctors feel there is hope for the left one, but not for total sure.

Sorry for the graphic nature of everything, but I haven't had but a few minutes of sleep since Friday morn.

I am sorry that I won't be meeting you all....but you know that my thoughts and heart will be out there on the field with you. I will more than likely be in and out on the forum...mostly out. They have scheduled Thursday as the day to try to "blast" the kidney stone....they still need to stabalize her more before attacking the stone.

Would like to ask that you all keep Gayle in your prayers.

My prayers are with you Mel and your wife. This isn't a very good way to keep me from kicking your butt at the hunt you know.

Sorry, but 20 years of being a nurse and 10 of those in the ICU have taught me that HUMOR is a must in situations like this! Take care Mel and keep us posted. We will all miss you at the hunt.
