THE CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT

Finishing packing today, leaving thur A.M. gonna stop at the Garret musem in Garland, and stay somewhere north of Dallas thur night, then leaving the country (Texas) fri A.M. should be in Kansas setting up camp by noon. whooo hooo

River Rat, the A$$ and I are leaving Louisiana tomorrow morn. We'll stay somewhere on the Okie side of Arkansas Thur night, then slide on into Caldwell in time for the Revue for Friday lunch.

On a sour note, we've decided to leave the keyboard at the house. It's starting to get cranky on me, cutting out and such, so I made the decision to leave it's butt at home. Dan will have his guitar and fiddle, though! ;D Nan, if you've got a keyboard, bring 'er on!

Am looking forward to seeing everybody again and meeting the new ones! We'll have on our blue plaid. Watch for the tall skinny pretty lady (River Rat), the short dumpy graying broad (me) and a handsome fella with a white beard. That's us!!!

EVERYBODY DRIVE CAREFULLY!!!

Noodle

Sounds like the wagons are starting to get packed and lined up.

Saaay, there IS a resemblance! :D Looks like she's holdin' a BANJO!

WAGOOOOOONS HO!!!!!! ;D ;D

I'll try to be up by Friday noon, depends on when I can get away from home. Not so bad a drive for me about 3 hours. And I'll keep my blue plaid lucky prospecting shirt under wraps until hunt time. Don't want any of that lucky prospecting luck to wear off. This is not the original blue plaid lucky prospecting shirt though. My wife tricked me into giving it to Goodwill, so I had to get another only not quite as dirty and stinky and no loose threads to burn off with my lighter. Oh, I didn't tell you about the loose threads on the original lucky blue plaid prospecting shirt did I? I had been out "prospecting" (as my wife calls it) and had to come in early to take her to the doctor. When we got to the doctor's parking lot she told me that if I was going in with her I needed to cut off the loose strings hanging down on my left arm from where a seam came loose. I said no need, lit my lighter and touched it to the longest loose string. The flame ran up that string like a fuse and touched off the other loose strings! Next thing I knew my whole left arm was on fire! I bailed out of the car screaming and slapping flames until it went out! I was standing beside the car door breathless and my arm still smoking, hands covered with black gunk from burning polyester, and she just looked at me with those cold black eyes and said, "Well, I guess that means you're not coming in"? She nailed it! M ::) nty

Got some extra music makers Kazoo and percussion pulsar, rthym sticks, maracus, gotta have somethin for the kids to join in on.

And I got my BLUE PLAID SHIRTready to go!

The WAIT IS GETTING WORSE it's like when we were trying to wait for J.D.'s hunt the anticipation of getting to see everyone makes the time go so slow, but the packing time is slipping away!!!!!!!

So close yet so far away!!

But a bunch of them are the steers coming up from Texas. ;)

OMG, Noodle I sure hope you have a large SUV and not a mini. Man, all this stuff...pillow, blanket, chair, hiking sticks, flower seeds, food/snacks/drinks, dang Garrett bag will not hold MD and all the diggers...(tried to stuff a backhoe in there too). ;D ;D Just taking a break for a few, then back to packing.

Burdie, with that many people in Caldwell...I believe there's gonna be a stampede. :o

;) RR

Rat, sounds like your back seat is getting smaller and smaller and smaller... :D :D We may have to tie you on the top! :o Don't worry; we'll cram you in there somewhere. ;D :D ;D

latest forecast: partly cloudy, H91, L70, 10% chance of rain

Layers, folks, layers...

No way will we have that many visitors. Why the traffic would be backed up to the Interstate if we had that many. I bet no more than 5,000 will be here and that is if we are all drunk till we see double. I will have the fair building open at 1:00 if you need to rest or check in. Then will close for the cattle drive. Will open by 4:00 again.
Burdie

Whew! Almost ready to go! My A$$ says I don't need all those shoes! ::) :D
We hope to be there in time for lunch and the Revue Friday, so save us a spot!!!

90 degrees! :o Someone's gonna have to host a party at the local swimmin' hole! :D
So excited!!!!!!!!!!

What's this I hear about a Blue Plaid Shirt....I don't remember that at the Otterville hunt. Did someone leave me out of the conversation again.....Noodle and RR, gotta watch em!!!!! I'm bringing all my lucky MD'ing shirts and guess what, I haven't washed them since Otterville...Ha, ha!! I seriously have MD'ing shirts though....My A$$ says that no matter how much she washes them they still stink!!! LOL!
Well, 6 hour drive for me. I will be pooped when I arrive. As long as Eric in KS has the coolers stocked I'll be ok. I sure do look forward to seeing everyone!
