Sorry to get off course here...but wanted to give update on Gayle.

Gayle was supposed to have surgery last Thursday so that they could "blast" the kidney stone. HOWEVER....due to a hospital screwup, the doctor's canceled the surgery. It seems that Gayle's roommate had a fever of 101 on Wednesday night....and the night nurse erroneously logged that lady's temperature into GAYLE'S RECORD!!! As such, when the doctor's saw that Gayle had a 101 fever...WHICH SHE DIDN'T....they cancelled the surgery and discharged her on Friday....only to have her come back this coming Wed for the surgery! In the meantime, Gayle has the catheter still in her back...into her kidneys....and she is staying at her sister's house which is about 4 miles from the hospital....vice our house which is about 25 miles. The nurses also went 2 full shifts (more than 16 hours) without giving Gayle her antibiotics at the prescribed 8 hour intervals.

The hospital floor administrator indicated these were "red rule violations". MasterEagle...ever hear of that term? Being that I'm a tad on edge lately...I responded rather harshly by asking her if she knew of the terms "attorney" and "lawsuit".

So, my friends...pls keep Gayle in your prayers. She is doing real well...but she is very depressed. She just wants it all over...instead of being jerked around.

Mel-of course my prayers are sent daily.I sincerely hope they don't screw-up anymore.Bless her heart,I know what it's like when they do and it always seems to be the night shift or the weekenders that don't seem to have patient care as their number one objective.I found the wife's oxygen pulled loose from the wall,no telling for how long.Once I walked in and she was half falling out of bed and when I told them,I got 'O,she's ok'(without looking at her)I busted loose also.This was while she was ventilated and sedated out.Anyway buddy,hang in there and tell Gayle everyone is looking forward to her recovery and wishing her the best.God Bless.

Mel, Tell Gayle she is still in our prayers, as well as you, WSD is right abut the off day staff, not always, but alot, when my grandmother was in hosp. she was having a difficult time breathing, I asked for someone to help they said if she made it thru the night they'd run test, don't ask me what I said I can't type it here, Once when daughter was in' the nurse could't get blood drawn, tried 7 times, I put my hand over her arm and said NO!! not again, so she was gonna get me thrown out left came back with charge nurse given me the evil eye she started to say her speach I stopped her and told her # of sticks, she apoligzed told the other one to leave asked if she could try 1 time, or lab in a couple of hrs, told her ok, 1 time she got it. I'm really mouthy at hosp. If you want someone quite you don't want me around. Sorry Doc weve had a lot of good care too, but daughter has asthma and she had 14 surgries on back and front of spine, so we've had alot of bad with the good.

Due to professional obligations and ethics I cannot comment on your situation.

When my mom was in the hospital and they marked wrong vitals in her chart and cancelled her procedure they KNEW about it! I don't think my mom ever got a bill for that stay.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Sadly this happens a lot more than it should.

Cool!!! Hell I'm hearing its gonna be Cold, 50's at night and 70's day starting around thursday in Caldwell. Spouse to be in the 50's in central Tex by sunday. I'm gonna find out if that heater switch works in the camper.

hey guys good luck with everything I want to go sooooooo bad, I even quit my band so I have a chance to go but I have no way of getting there... with my injuries I still cant drive a car only maybe 15min. 1/2 hour at a time I hope you all have a great time. jd

Can you RIDE in a car for longer than 15 minutes at a time? - not drive, just ride?

Dang. I'm leaving TODAY. (Headed to Wichita beforehand to visit folks.) Soon as the truck is loaded, I'm gone. Rats.

There's some construction on I-40 east of 270, but from 270 west, it's fine. Otherwise, you might think about I-70.
