THE CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT

Look What I Came Across --

The Old Chisholm Trail

Well come along boys and listen to my tale,

I'll tell you my troubles on the old Chisholm Trail.

On a ten dollar horse and a forty dollar saddle,

I started out to punchin' them longhorn cattle.

I started up the trail October twenty-third,

I started up the trail with the 2U herd.

I'm up in the morning before daylight,

And before I sleep the moon shines bright.

It's bacon and beans most every day,

We'll soon be a-eatin' prairie hay.

With my seat in the saddle and my hand on the horn,

I'm the best damned cowboy that ever was born.

It's cloudy in the west and a-lookin' like rain,

And my damned old slicker's in the wagon again.

- A favorite song of the old time cowboys.

THE ANTICIPATION IS KILLING ME........NOT GETTING MUCH HUNTING IN BUT I CAN'T WAIT FOR OCTOBER......how's everybody else felling......lol. Happy Hunting to those who are getting out and see ya in October...........gregd573

Just talked to Steve and he says there is a strong possibility that he and JD will be at the hunt!He says they really want to make it out to it.

That would be great!!! Lots of room out here. Sounds like JD is getting better hope so.

Man, you guys are getting geared up for a real show down. Everytime someone posts here, I gotta read...Mel really put me in a good mood by posting his cowpoke pics. Yep, I was born to this kind of thing too. I really hate to miss out on all the fun, I'll be there in mind & spirit. You know, I might would had skipped the hunt & actually went on the cattle drive. Maybe by Oct I might be feeling better...just jump on my trike & bogie on up.

:) RR

Stoney,go ahead and put Rat down for the hunt. There ain't no way she's gonna miss it.Maybe there'll be a ropin' contest for the 'cowboys/cowgirls at heart.

Gypsy, when you find all of that gold during the hunt, you can buy the entire town! Then, you can hunt the town whenever and wherever you want... ;D
Even in Burdie's back yard. ;D

Oh, regarding my earlier picture..it wasn't until a year later that I learned where steaks came from... :o :o :o :o :o :o LOL

And then, when I was in the Navy, stationed in Okinawa in 1974, I realized that I could actually hold a conversation with animals.....LOL Doggone if I didn't lose most of the arguments, though. LOL

Ropin'? Charlie says you're pretty good with a bullwhip when you got them short leathers on!

OH LORD Stoney how is this group going to have any fun ;D ;D ;D ;D
Say Gypsy just opposite of that picture was a three story hotel. The big flood washed it away along with a 1 ton safe. Wonder what was in that safe? Can't find the Pict of the hotel collapsing.
Burdie

Just been thinking about our musical contributions.Let's see if I got it right so far or if there are others:
Noodle will have a fiddle and keyboard
Gypsy will do karaoke
Ros will do nose flutes
Guitar,JD and ?
RR - cow bells?(we saw her cows)
Whoopie bags-too many built-in ones to mention
Charlie will do the cat's meow
Mel will do muleskinner blues(he talks to them, you know)
Who else, what else????Don't be bashful.Speak up if you have contributing equal talent.

Burdie, glad to see you keep in touch while you vacation.Have you panned for any gold, yet? I mean,in addition to the panning at the casinos in Colorado.Did you find that out-of-the-way restaurant in Idaho Sprgs?
