Burdie, glad to see you keep in touch while you vacation.Have you panned for any gold, yet? I mean,in addition to the panning at the casinos in Colorado.Did you find that out-of-the-way restaurant in Idaho Sprgs?
I will post the trip on another thread. Leaving Monday morning from KC. The post will be for those hard working members that pay my retirement. The least I can do for them.

Nana40,

Ok, this is going to be my first hunt...Lordy be, what have I got myself in for? ;D

This had better not be like my first snipe hunt...........wow....thought those little creatures would never show up! ;D

I'll be staying in Ponca City at the Marriott Fairfield Inn. Will be driving from Manassas, VA and should be arriving on Thursday. Figured I'd get there a day early since I know how wild Ponca City is, compared to the Washington, DC area.....LOL ;D

Hey Mel,

I'll have to stop in and see ya ;D
We sometimes eat dinner, right down the street at Cobb's Cafe.

Tom

Sounds good, Tom.......why not stay and hunt with us?

I'm seriously considering it.

BTW, Cobb's make a good chicken fried steak and their cocoanut cream pie is to die for.
I'm not supposed to eat sweets....but... ;D

Hey, Warsawdaddy, if Timberwolf comes, you'll have to come up a good musical contribution that he can do....like wolf yelping at our attempts to sing....LOL ;D ;D

Tom, that would be super if you could stay and hunt with us.

Uh huh, you'll have to put longer strings on your nail pouch.

BTW, don't forget Chick & Millies as well as Head Country. ;)

I'm baaaaack.

So whats the verdict on where people are staying? I don't want to reserve a room somewhere just to find out most people are staying elsewhere. I am up for the tent thing but my A$$'s idea of camping is a hotel. July is almost gone, can't wait!

Hey Mel. I plan on being in your neck of the woods late August. I will let you know for sure. I will take you to my sisters place on 29 near Manassas. Once I introduce you I am sure you will be welcome back. It's 25 acres right on the main route used by the confederate troops between Manassas and Warrenton. Looking forward to it.

Hey, TN...sounds great! I will be heading to Rehoboth Beach, DE on Sep 1st for a week. Gotta sharpen up my MDing skills for the CTH. ;D ;D After all, Burdie and Stoney have been out getting the gold panning fever.

As for me....for the CTH....I'm booked into the Marriott in Ponca City.

What does that mean? I must be running in slow mode :D

Tom

Hey Stoney,

Can I trust you with the entry fee, or should I mail it to Burdie ;D ;D ;D

It will not make that big of a difference but we do have a Chisholm trail checking account in Caldwell. We write the checks from that account to pay for things. It is up to you. Looking forward meeting you. I just missed Stoney in Colorado he is panning for gold and camping out. That is why I replied.
Burdie

Thanks Burdie,

I knew they were headed that way. They saw me doing my daily three mile walk the other evening, and stopped and talked for a bit.

I have talked my better half into comimg, but the deal is, I have to teach her how to use a detector between now and the hunt. I think I can do that ;)

Yes, I am looking forward to seeing everyone too. It should be a fun time for all.

TW

Come on, Tom, teach her how to use the metal detector...........then she will want one....and when you buy her one, we shall have in our midsts....a CONVERT! Yippeee!

Plus, you and I have to discuss your new adventure...leather sheaths for the TIMBERWOLF. 8) 8)

The more the merrier! ;D ;D ;D ;D HURRY UP CTH! ;) ;) ;) ;)

Ton, I was referring to the chicken fried steak. You'd have to have longer strings after one of their meals. ;)

Has anyone else noticed that Burdie and Stoney haven't really mentioned if they have stashed a 'gold poke' from those CO hills? I wonder, ummmm.

I'll post some pics later on it's own thread when I get off work. I just about maxed out the MasterCard and the wife maxed out the SD camera card. LOL
