The dreaded 14K gold "filled"

well the title says it all, nothing like seeing that ring shape in a hole and shiny gold looking back at you, only to look in the band and find the word filled...bummer :-\

spent 2hrs detecting at my cousin's house down in Newville, PA. Ended up with a 44P War Nickel, spoon that looks like it was gold plated at one time, the back of a compact, a few lincolns and a brooch of some sort. Oh, and the dreaded "gold" ring.

You did well. We were in Newville last weekend at Colonel Denning state park. about 8 miles north of town. Good luck

Keep at is, eventually the real thing will show up. For all my hunting time at an area beach, i would be thrilled to find ANYTHING jewelry related. Pulltabs and aluminum seem to be all that is on our beach aside from some modern clad change and a few fishing sinkers.

Try changing your venue. Sounds like you may be in a rut...half this game is mental...the other half is where you look...hit a variety of spots to shake things up...
