Seems like the anticipated response from the Duck Dynasty family came this evening in the form of - we can't continue without our patriarch (Phil) and are in discussion with A & E about the future of Duck Dynasty. (loose translation)

English translations:

This argument in the media is the most entertaining thing I have seen in a long time. Regardless of the outcome.

I listened to three different radio talk shows this evening at work. (That's where I first heard about the brew-ha-ha.) But not until I got home and read the actual GQ article, did I really get a clue about what the whole fuss was about. Personally he didn't say anything that surprised me having seen DD more than a few times. It just wasn't the G-rated words used on tv.

Without commenting on whether I support his comments or not--A&E needs the Duck Dynasty guys more than the other way around.

I never cease to not learn something here on TN. I was under the impression that we had some other major problems going on. And come to find out A & E and some "backwoods Cajun hillbillies" are the root cause...? I never had a clue!!!! I'm not letting any of my Grandchildren watch any more Christmas specials on A & E anymore. Thanks for the info.

Two of the better comments I heard on the talk shows I listened to yesterday:
* You don't have a first amendment right to be on a (reality) tv show.
* The first amendment is not for speech you agree with.

But the winning comment had to do with A&E. The host commented that with DD A&E was hoping for the Louisiana version of Honey BooBoo. I laughed so hard because when I first saw commercials for the show that's exactly what I thought.

BIG DIFFERENCE between Cajun and Hillbilly. They're more "hillbilly" than Cajun ... live about 60 miles away from them guys and have seen them before they were "tv stars".

They make freakin duck calls. They are as country as they seem on television, but no, not stupid.

I know cajun as I am a half bleed coonass from west of New Orleans. Family owned Grand Isle at one time. Cajun they are not, but they ain't put ons (like some folks here) either.
