This past Sunday I found the find of a lifetime, a 1652 Pine Tree Shilling at a site in Connecticut. I don't post much on here but thought I would share it with you. 18814336_10209321218691077_6990423850541621481_n.webp19105701_10209321219051086_7146193852843806294_n.webp

Absolutely killer find Donnie!! I've only managed a cut piece from a NOE-11 so far, but that whole coin is definitely way up there on my bucket list.

From my understanding it is one of the most common varieties. I think Noe-29 may be the other common one; however, to find a Massachusetts Pine Tree Shilling in this condition is definitely not common. I posted it on another forum and was immediately contacted by Stacks Bowers to see if I was interested in selling the coin. I think that I posted it in the wrong place on this site. I probably should have posted it under "Today's finds" instead of "Best Finds."

Is this the reason it's not getting the recognition it deserves??
I think it's a Banner find !
Congratulations Don!

Thank you and congratulations on your cut Noe-11, Bill! You definitely know how I felt when I realized what I had just dug up!

Golly!.... she's a beaut!

That's insane. I couldn't imagine. Don't those go at auction for $20,000+?? I couldn't contain myself if I had found that .

AND BANNER too!

banner my friend,congrats:headbang:

You've done it now. I want one.

Wow! Nice find

Ba Ba Ba Banner! Can you feel the jealousy?

That's a super-find! It's on my wishlist, but seeing as I live in Southwest Virginia, I think it will only ever be just that...a wish.:)

Thank you! The obverse is slightly off struck. That's one of the things I love about these old hammered coins. No two are exactly the same.

Nice centered strike there.....and banner material as well.

Ridiculously incredible condition. A Mass silver was #1 on my list and I found one a couple years ago. It had a 1664 right beside it. I give mi e a very light lemon juice bath to make the detail pop a bit more while trying to keep that nice dark tonight. That's a find of a lifetime and I congratulate you. To find one is incredible...in that condition is epic

Thank you very much for your compliments and congratulations on your Noe 29! I haven't had the coin graded yet but a representative of one of the major auction houses contacted me after seeing a post of my find. He said it would likely grade either Extremely Fine or About Uncirculated (details). I haven't touched mine and have left the dirt on it for now (other than a spray of water in the field). I'm afraid to touch it!
