Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Mother nature is starting to stir, those northeasters starting to become more evident as we tip-toe into November and December. For those who can, and for those who are still willing to swing their thing on the beach despite the change in seasons then there is, perhaps, no better time to be on the beach. From now through about April/May, depending on the arrival of those warmer southerly winds, the beach will experience a great deal of change, more in some places then in others. All summer long the sand has continued to pile up one heap after the other but now mother nature is slowing gearing up to reclaim a great deal of it. In the months ahead she's going frequently strip the sand from the beach, those deep targets below often becoming exposed, and at least for a short period of time, left unprotected and well within range of your machine. If the fury of the sea gets angry enough some targets will even get cast onto the beach from their underwater haunts. It's usually chilly hunting and sometimes it's down right cold, sometimes even bitter cold, but for many who choose to endure these discomforts it will be worth it, their pockets and pouches often bringing treasure home. It's seldom easy hunting and it's seldom all that much fun, tis the season for the hardiest of the lot and you can bet they're preparing for it, if they're not already prepared, which is far more likely. Now it's just a matter of time, the waiting game, as Mother nature is finally on the move again. :icon_thumright:

Cool to find those out of place (sort of speak) coins, nice pics on the beach report as well. That fella rocks. Low tide coming in at my kinda times. Even though up past the plant is scary at twilight. Skunk apes jumping in front of the truck up there.

Haha.. been out there with my head lamp..I know what you mean.

seagrape to turtle trail produced nothing this evining!!!! mushy sand and no cuts!

chuck.

Just got back from one of my area beaches, "a lot" of deep & shallow pull tabs, bottle caps, a scattering of modern coins, ect. Appears to me as if it's just dragged some of the upper beach sand down and also pushed some sand in. It certainly didn't appear as if it actually took any sand off these beaches.

Was one heck of a nice day for a walk.

Seems like the angled beaches cut from this.
This piece is starting to interest me.
Just rubbed an edge of one of the objects stuck to the stone and got black on my finger.

Seemed like its shaping the old cuts more then producing them at majority of beaches south of Herman's bay. Which would be the new sand just being moved in and out more so due to the east to west wave direction. Until we get the angled waves. If I understand some of the more experienced detectorist input in the varies forums on the web. Besides this past year only thing I would swing was a trowel so just soaking it all in for scientific testing.

I know it's usually an unspoken rule to be tight lipped when it comes to this ..but I will say this... I know for a fact cobs were found these last two days.

I was going to go to Cocoa detecting but I changed my mind. Me and the wife are going to Pass a Grille, on the West coast, tomorrow to try to catch some redfish and spanny macks...probably just catch jacks but I don't care...doesn't take much to make me happy...good luck on the East side.

Good luck to you.
I love those macs on my smoker.
FYI... alot of pompano are just south of the cape right now.
Bring a sand flea rake if you have one.
Check out this one a cool guy I met today had with him..LOL.
"Front end loader" with a handle.
I thought laying a detector in front of it would make a funny photo.

Thanks for the info on the pomps...I go surf fishing at Spessard Holland near Melbourne Beach a few times a year...haven't been surf fishing since mid summer...thanks again...that's the biggest flea rake Ive ever seen.

That was the biggest flea rake I had ever seen until hubcap posted his picture...good god...what next? a backhoe with a mesh bucket?

You are so right , Bigscoop.

I'm one of the "winter hunters" ...love the wind, cold, and ice and snow; and I love those stripped beaches when I'm hunting in 35 *-40* conditions. Triple-gloved, triple Turtle-necked triple -socked...oh, I can't wait.

I had all kinds of crazy notions when I laid eyes on the flea scoop, flat back canoe, motor and heavy rope.

We think a lot alike.
Hunting for several different types of items could be done with that.

Lots of mush sand and weed here too. Winds are dead now but are predicted to pick up again this weekend. The hunt never stops. Best find so far was a big hunk of sea glass. Looks like it was a thick wine glass. Man I want to find a cobb.
