Prepare now if it affects you. This shut down may last a lot longer. There is no way they are reaching an agreement before the CR runs its course, barring some miraculous miracle.

On the comedic dark note... in 150 years our great grandchildren may be metal detecting civil war relics and shell casings from 2027.

...40 years ago, before a particular wooded area, outside our city limits, was developed, there was a creek with 25' banks in either side. The bank ran alongside the creek for about 200 yards, either side. This provided an excellent, safe, area in which to target practice with your favorite boom-stick ... Park your vehicle at the gravel-road dead end, & a 1/4 mile trek to the site ...

... I currently live less than a mile, crow's flight, from there & should go dig the banks & see what I find ...
