This was a Plan C option. Plan A - to finish off the Unnamed Roman Site & Plan B to do 'The Trackway' Site meant walking too far from the car in what was predicted to be a very rainy day. As it turned out it, only a small amount of light rain came, so there was no real need to change our plans!
However, as luck would have it, I'm sure we would never have done this well, so this area now slides to the top of the list....
This field is a huge field which includes areas of Plan A & B so it has the benefit of the huge 12" turn!
5 Hours & 15 mins Gridding;

17th C Pewter King Charles I Patriotic Button (a first)
3 Roman Coins - 2 Pierced ones

Iron age (Celtic) Toggle
2 Bit of Bronze Age Axe
9th C Saxon Strap-end

6th C AD Childs Small-Long Brooch (broken)

Near Complete 6th C AD Saxon Equal Armed Brooch
5 Hammered - Most busted low grade - All fell to me coil & so it the Sceat!

UPDATE:

''Many thanks for the images of this new find, which I have recorded.
A very good example of Series E, Secondary variety A, an imported Continental coinage of c. 720-740''

Another great day out!

Impressive as always! Which one is the Saxon Strap-end?
Picture 6 - 3 items, the one top left that has lots of scratches. Its very debased, should look more like this;

I have found only 4 in all my years of searching, so that is great, nice land to search. So to see you two are still busy with searching. I have not been out for 4 years, but plan to go soon with my new detector. Corona, getting married (3rd) and moving has kept me busy, and the nice summer, just stayed at the camping for 5 months.... Take care.
