looks like it has glue on the back too.
was probably glued and nailed to a wall from behind, so the nails could not be seen.
but still cool, even if it were not done by someone with an overactive imagination

If you watch through to the end, she did actually go back and recover it, after it was identified by people who saw her pictures on Twitter (notably Professor Dan Hicks and Theo Weiss).

It’s a ritual “power figure” from the Democratic Republic of Congo, known as a “Nkisi Kondi” and likely late 19th or early 20th Century. These are made in many forms – often human – and this one is a dog figure known as a “Nkisi Kozo”. Quite how it ended up in the Thames is a mystery, but it was a really interesting find.
