I've been away for a while, but got back in Singapore last week. I went out t the beach on Thursday night, Friday morning, and Friday night during low tides. Nothing has changed about this place! Here are my finds from these three short trips to the beach, totaling about 8 hours of searching. I used the White's V3i with the standard 10" DD coil, programmed for the wet salt beach. 8)

A shot of the gold and silver jewelry. The gold is mostly 20 & 22kt, while the two off colored pieces at the top are 18 and 14 kt. The silver is all sterling.

Close up of the gold.

Close up of a unique silver find. I assume that is a black crystal inside.

Green gem. I'll have to have someone examine this one and the red one to ID them for me.

Red stone.

Little diamond in a unique shaped band. The half circle appears to be designed that way, unless this was part of a two ring set. The other side shows no damage and is smooth.

Little gold leaf with what may be Buddha. The back has the 22kt stamp.

I now have an "S" to go with my "J" and "M". I wonder if I'll be able to spell a word before I leave Singapore?

Here's some of the non gold/silver rings.

My first copper ring, if that is what it is.

And the typical coin hall. These are all Singaporean. The exchange rate is $1 US = about $1.22 Singaporean.

Unfortunately I depart post on July 1st, 2011 and may not ever get back. There's so many places on this tiny planet I want to experience, so I try not to get posted to the same place twice.

I am shipping my detector out the week that I leave, so I can get one or two more weekends at the beach. Then I take it to the USA while on home-leave for a month before it goes into storage while I am off to Iraq. In 2012 I will get it back when I move to Hungary, where I will have three years there to try and find some old stuff! Can't wait!

Affter 2015.. who knows where I will go. I start the bidding process in 2014, and hope to get back to southern Africa, but New Zealand and Australia are high on my list. Chile, Argentina and Ecuador are up high on my list too. Too many places.. so little time!

Peter

That's metal detecting like it was here back in the old days. I'm booking a flight to Singapore this minute. :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft:

Wonderful stuff!! Booking a flight! lol

That is one awesome gold mine. Wish I could fly over!

I just talked a colleague into come with me one last time and hit this same beach tonight. He uses a Minelab X-Terra 705 with a 5x10 DD. I use my Whites V3i with the standard 10" DD. It's rare that I get to go out detecting with another person. I'm hoping to have a good time!

Hi Peter,,
I'm Danny a local guy from Singapore, I had my Garret Ace 250 with me that I bought it from 1 of the hardware shop in Singapore, it really been great having that metal detector for a hobby to search for treasure, I been doing my search on Sentosa island beach and it really surprise me alot of what I found. How I wish to explore more like what u did plan for ur next coming trip treasure hunting, and how I wish to join u along for an adventure treasure hunt trip.

Man, you did good! Great treasures. Minelab did well looks like, Good luck next hunt.

SWEEEEEET! I wish i could find a honey hole like that!

Man,it has been a while since I have seen the shimmering golden goodness come out of the sand.. You are finding some really nice gold! Enjoy it while you can and a large pile of gold makes a big pile of money.

That it's totally incredible, your back must hurt so much, counting the clad and the jewelry there must be over 200 targets!
Congrats on the high quality gold

good to know that MD is allowed of all places in Singapore which is known to be strict with regards to discipline. Next time I'm going to SG I'm bringing my X-terra 70 with me. I'm from the Philippines BTW and I believe we only have less than 10 detectorist (hobbist) here in the country despite having gold reserves. I have tried our local beach resort here with no problem as well.

My wife is Malaysian and she is ready to jump on a plane and come visit relatives in Singapore. Last time I was at that beach, all I got was pictures.

Very impressive hunt, to say the least. Beautiful country too. I was there for a few weeks in 1995. Very clean country. Don't get caught littering :whip2:

Wow, I'm ready for a field trip, congratulations!!! :icon_thumleft:

I hear ya in the getting stationed in multiple places thing.... Hungary aught to produce some really interesting things...some really old stuff. Great finds, btw. Hope to hear more soon.

"The red is corral and the green is tourmaline or possibly a columbian emerald (looks too clean) for this though quite the haul of GOLD"

Dang... a jeweler who doesn't even need a polarizing microscope to ID stones! :headbang: :headbang:

To start off with, I wish we had caning here in the good ole US.

I was content with life until I saw your post.

Beautiful beaches, full of gold and lord knows what else.

I feel kind of bummed out.

Congrats on the great finds and the life.

Seize the day.
