The new guy found a button??? -- gold??

[WellsCreek]

Not sure what this is exactly but it seems to have several bright gold (?) spots. THe top has 3 maybe four small golden holes and the back has gold(?) showing through the dirt.
Someone please tell me this is part of the ark of the covenant...not just more trash. ha
Anyone have an idear?? Thanks!

It's a flat button that once was coated with gold gilt. Sort of like a paint or dip. It usually wears off if left in the ground long enough, depending upon the chemicals applied to that ground.

It's part of the Arch of the Covenant....ugh I think.

I forgot to mention...this is metal for sure but it does not respond to a magnet.
Fairly heavy too..
