The 1st picture is a short (1 hr 15 mins) Sunday hunt that I did with Land-Mag on 2 new grass fields. Nothing much to report other than crossing them off the list. As well as probably getting my oldest Clothes Peg, I got my first Show Rabbit Leg Ring from the British Rabbit Council.:laughing7:

The 2nd picture is Cru'dad's 3 hour hunt on the Roman Wood Site, he had 10 scrappies, so that will be our next outing.

Today, I did 5 hours & Cru'dad did just less than 4 hours on 'The Potato Field'. The aim as always on this field was to get 1 hammered, we failed that last time but made up for it today:

1 Scrappy (not pictured)
2 Lead Tokens
1 French Jetton
Crotal Bell
18th C Toy Cannon 8-)
Neolithic Flint
Medieval Bits..
Frag of a Solid Silver 18th C Shoe Buckle.:sadsmiley:
2 Hammered - Halfgroat (no ID), & a Cut Short-cross (no ID)
What may turn out to be my best button the year - I think its a Very Rare Admiral's Button from 1787-1812. But I put it on the What Is It, as I don't have the right books - Any help welcome?

Nice hunt, hope you are right about the admiral button! and joking about a darn rabbit leg ring.

No joke, I thought it was too big for a Pigeon Ring, but I rang the BRC - Bentley Rollers Club (Pigeon racers), & he stated lots of people phone him with the same error. Told me it stood for the British Rabbit Council....:laughing7:

I really like that toy cannon!

that button sure looks good!
It looks like the example on Geo Washington Inaugural site, but it looks like the Royal Marines example too
I'll keep an eye on this one to see where it goes

Hammereds are always fine! Looking forward what's with the Admirals button.
The knobby piece top right on the 6th flipflop pic. Is that an arm of a roman legionairs brooch? You know, these large crossbow brooches. Not sure how big it is, but they can be huge.

***YAWN*** ehhh just another typical day for Cruz... nailing a pile of pre 1800's hits in just over an hour.

Man I hate you :P

:)

Its a Cru'dad find, thought it was a drawer knob until I cleaned it. As it's Bronze (& not from a brooch), I'm thinking a Roman furniture piece??

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Like the acorn style pieces? Possible, i got non decorated knobs and drawer pull ends before.

Way to go CRU! I love the hammered silver and all the other goods too. Nicely done!

You need to open up a Museum!

One great pleasure of this hobby is researching an old find/button.
Great looking button
