- Metal Detecting
My in laws stopped by today and i got tired of their endless chatter, so i grabbed my ace 250 and out the door i went.
I stopped by an old school that I have wanted to detect, but the looks from the locals told me to just go away before it was too late.
I was bound and determined to do some detecting, so I went to another local school. Around the playground equipment i kept get good signals and digging alot of memorial pennies, pull tabs and a few hot wheels.
I really wanted to find some bigger change, so i called my wife and asked her where they played when she went to this school in the early 1980s.
She told me they played in the lower corner of the school yard. So that is where i decided to go.
Bingo...as soon as i turned my ace 250 on, it started dinging. So i started digging and did not quit digging for an hour.
I found 20 quarters, 15 dimes and 8 pennies. ( no nickels, even though the ace 250 said some of the quarters was nickles.)
This is the first coin finds I have made with the ace 250 and im darn happy.
If the rain holds off until tomorrow afternoon, im going back to the quarter corner early in the morning.
No pictures, but i guarantee you with my money from the government ( stimulus package ) im getting a digital camera.
Thanks for looking,
ALLEN

Sounds like a great spot to hunt! Wouldn't it be neat to find something she lost back in the day that she would recognize!
