They have started harvesting here in northern illinois. I hunted a harvested wheat field today that I had previously hunted three times. Great to get out again .

A Large Cent in any condition is a great find - congrats !

It's up to you but ...
I've gotten real good results cleaning all types of encrusted Copper Coins with"Andres Pencils".
They do a real good job of cleaning and bringing out detail.
 

Yes, a strong signal. I think some pass up on digging them because the signal is so strong.
absolutely, been guilty of that myself last one I found was a solid 93 and I began to walk away thinking canslaw...glad I went back!
 

If you don't want that damaged large cent can i HAVE IT ???? :)
 

It might be a little rough but at least it still has a readable date. I have spent too many hours trying to make out the date on a large cent.

I had to put it in my rock tumbler fora half hour to make it readable.
